No can be the kindest word often.

That’s a good and loving way to look at. A No can be a blessing.

What about those individuals who intend to hear YES only, from the ones they sit above?

Good point, Hammad! Yes, those who only accept a yes will have difficulties with a No. However, that’s their problem to deal with, not the No-sayer.

Erika, very rarely have I regretted saying no. It can be liberating. Keith

I hear you well, Keith. The first time when I said No in full awareness whas the most liberating experience by then. Realizing I am allowed to say No, that it is my choice and my right to do so, was an insight that lifted me above a lot of mountains that put me in their shadows by then.

Such a needed reminder, Erika. “No” is a complete sentence, we don’t owe anyone a lengthy justification for protecting our peace. What I love about your framing is that saying no isn’t selfish; it’s how our yes finally means something. When we say yes to everything, we honor nothing. Thank you for this. 🌟

That is exactly the deep meaning behind it! A No only gives a Yes its quality. You totall got the whole point, Khadija. Thanks for adding your comment with such profound details.

Exactly, Sanjo! Saying NO is a sign that we take care of ourselves.

So, then it seems important to keep repeating the message.

I have discovered two words that get the message across as a “No” response. Without questions……. it’s “I can’t.” 🤔

A good way, if you want to pass the message kindly.

LOL 😂I hear you, Mark. I am so much better at it. Still, there are moments when I am hesitating… but they become less and less. Age helps 👍

Haha, so it is age then. It indeed has become so much easier kind lady. Plus I smile, takes some of the sting out of it 😂❤️🙏

True, smiling does help a lot to distance from the heaviness and the pressure… and makes it easier to make decision we feel ok with… 😄

“No” is such and important word to master, especially if we are going to make the most of our “yes”.

Thank you, Joseph! I think that is what many overlook: If we are able to say No, our Yes receives a that clear quality too!

I have said yes to so many things I should have said no to and as a result said no to many of the things m,y life should have been about.

That realization is the lesson we need to learn to stand up for ourselves. It takes a lot of sacrifices until we realize that we only sacrifice ourselves.
