What does the world need the most these days? That was my question when I thought about writing this post. I opened up the internet and waited for what quote would come up first to focus my post on. The quote above popped up first on my screen. Oh, and it was totally on target in my opinion.
It is easy to become aggressive these days when a leader of one country (no matter its size) believes he is the leader of the world and has the right to get and do whatever he wishes to pat his ego. It is not easy to keep the peace while watching him create terror by actively supporting injustice, discrimination, and disrespect against everyone in this world. It is not easy to keep the peace while watching an angry boy threatening all countries with insane measures because he does not get his way. It is not easy to maintain peace when one person is on the verge of provoking the worst of world wars, simply because he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
No, it is not easy to keep the peace, but we must. There is no other option. Because it is the only way to have peace again. Let’s consciously choose peace for the sake of peace, for our children, and future generations. We don’t have to accept what happens, not at all! But we have to remain peaceful. Otherwise, we are not better! We must not sink to the same level of claiming to be right, of lying, or of violence. The more peaceful we are, the clearer we see who is not, and the clearer we do see ways to have peace in this world again.
As I often say, nothing happens in vain or accidentally. May these days remind us of what matters and bring the rest of the world closer together. May we detach from energies that want to destroy peace but unite with those that create it.
No one can take our inner peace if we don’t let them.
Only with inner peace can we create outer peace.

Again, we need to be careful that we don’t lose ourselves and drop to the level of others that we don’t even want.

Beautifully put, Erika. Today’s world is going backwards because of a few, whereas the many have the power to move it forward. Many of us may feel we have no control over what is happening, but as humans, we can bring about change when we unite peacefully.

I like a lot what you said here. That is exactly what I think too. We need to unite in the way that we want to see as a result in the end. We want peace, we need to be peaceful. Mankind proved it already. That one person took the chance to play God by gathering a bunch of nodding dogs. But that doesn’t mean we are helpless.

The best course of action is to continue to express peace. We cannot control the actions and attitudes of others but we can make wise choices concerning our actions and reactions. Unfortunately the history of this country is very muddied but we continue to hope for something better for the future generations.

Well said Syl. We suffer the same down here and as you said, keep that peace in our own hearts and not become like them 🤗❤️🙏

Right, we can only control our own actions and reactions. It is to learn from the past and experiences to adjust the own actions and keep up the positive attitude.

Great post Erika, beautifully written kind lady. But I will just make one point here. when all is calm and peaceful and we can really look back at what has just happened…one thing stands out to me.
People were angry at what went before, those that had been running America for some time were running the country so poorly that people were becoming more and more angry because amongst it all they had become forgotten. Such a ‘rich’ country was becoming more and more an ‘us and them’.
So when one of those ‘leaders’, vying to be elected again, and so vehemently trashing Trump, the only thing people could do was cast a demonstration vote ‘AT ALL LEADERS’ by doing what they were asking those voters not to. This whole mess can be planted squarely at the Clinton’s of this world etc. It was purely a demonstration vote. Even I thought it was time to shake up that constant deceit that was leader after leader, not realising the ‘nature of the beast’ that was coming in.
This will have shaken quite a few…but…the incoming leader will just keep doing the same unless this reaction right now kicks out the rot that the entire system has become. And the Epstein files are showing just how far that rot goes ❤️🙏

I see your point well, Mark. People who feel treated unfairly (whether objectively or subjectively) are just waiting for somenone who seems to give them a voice. When even it is a devil in disguise who talks to them. I don’t like to make comparisons with the 1930s, but that is how Hitler could come so far. My grandfather was 8 when Hitler marched in with his troops in Vienna. He recorded it on tape, how everyone was so excited and the whole city was on the streets chearing Hitler. He was like the liberation of poverty, someone who brings stability and wealth. There was no resigning to not be attacked by the Germans, it was pure excitement. At that time, no one saw what would be coming. My grandfather was in WWII at the age of 17. He was loyal because he thought, he fought for a good thing. The more he was destroyed when the truth was revealed nearing the end of WWII.
Low education, big promises, and unhappiness helps bad intentions to come to power.

Indeed Erika, the devil in disguise. It was amazing to see the truth of what you just said of WW2. Some leader stirring up lies and the people following something they think is a hope for the future, but is a graveyard. Being ‘used’ I think the term is.
And as the current world only knows what they are told, the evil needs to be put squarely where those that lead them are. If the courts do not now come looking for what is obviously corruption through the entire system, they are with them.
And as I have always said, this kind of power corrupts. That power needs to be removed and the only way it can be done is give everyday voting back to the people. Once every 3 or 6 months they vote on whatever has been brought up by the gov so that it will be fair. If you don’t want to vote then you must accept whatever is passed. And I’m talking about the actual people, not some representative. That is what got all countries in the mess they are in. Gov is not fair and never has been…except the odd good guy. But they are swamped by ‘party’ rules etc so they never get to do anything.
And remove all media from those people like those currently holding them. That is the start of all this as it uses it to manipulate ‘everything’.
Bang!!! That was my gavel giving the right to all people to live again, decide their own futures, and be able to smile again 🤣❤️🙏

Powerful words filled with clear observation and experience. Yes, Mark, I agree with everything you stated here. Unfortunately, human still tend to abuse good things/, inventions, advantages,… Once a government thinks they have “power”, the chance is high that the power will be abused. In Switzerland every year a different member of the government becomes president. There is an unwritten rule that each year, the member of the government who has not held office for the longest period of time is elected as federal president. That way it is difficult to build up a system to work for your own pockets and ego. Also, in Switzerland you are going to vote for every little thingy. It appears a bit ridiculous, but when I read your words and see that clear context, I must say, they have been doing something great for many decades,

I didn’t realise Switzerland did that Erika…cheers to sanity. I understand it can make some things slower but the end product is worth its weight in gold. I will have to look that up. If I may ask, does it feel like it works? My feeling is like anything it will have its detractors, but only because they don’t fully realise that if they follow the ‘English’ systems they too can be as bad 🤗❤️🙏

Hmm, does it work… As you said, it does slow things down. And since the Swiss are not a nation that loves changes. It can take quite a long time to implement innovations. However, it also means not overreacting only because something sounds nice at first sight. I would say, since Switzerland has build up a stable environment, it does work. Especially, since political corruptions are not happening to a degree like in other countries.

On its own less political corruption is worth its weight in gold Erika. The money figures coming out of America at the moment is unbelievable. Its almost like the ‘fat cats’ used gov money for their own slush funds. Now I understand why the debt is incredible. I looked it up, the 38 trillion dollars debt is the equivalent of China, India, Japan, Germany, and the United Kingdom economic output. You just have to shake your head. Nobody has to attack America, it will just collapse. No wonder it isn’t in revelations, there won’t be anything to destroy 🤗❤️🙏

Exactly! The USA are killing themselves through the hunger for power and money of one person… and a few stupid ones thinking kissing his … supports their career.

Living just North of a bullying, childish, immature, self-serving, poorly educated and totally irresponsible dictator, I cannot add anything more to what your Post covered. Sadly, it is all those people South of our border who will ultimately be paying the price for their leader’s shortcomings. Even though they did elect him in a fair (apparently) democratic process, my heart goes out to all of them as they struggle through the consequences of their leader’s actions.
For all the negative feelings we may have towards any leader who does not demonstrate humane and respectful values towards others, we must not allow those same feelings to exist towards the citizens under such a regime.
I would like to repeat (by paraphrasing) that prior paragraph. While I can understand the feelings of frustration, exasperation and even aggression towards such leaders (and there are a number around the world), we must not allow those same feelings to be expressed against the citizens of such countries.
“Love thy neighbour” really does say it best!

Colin, you speak to my heart. Even those who voted for him got tricked. They pay the prize for trusting and believing that people in such functions are definitely working FOR the people they were elected to care for. I am sorry for all of them and even more for those who did not vote for He-who-shall-not-be-named (as Keith says). And I agree, the more insane everything gets, the more we need to behave like humans: for keeping the rest of the world as stable as it gets and for those who are caught by a leader who thinks he is free to do what he wants to.
Btw. what about the plans to make Canady the 51 state? Just wait, when more of th Epstein files get released, he will start that again…

Erika and Colin, many thanks for not painting all Americans with the Trump brush, but what perturbs me is the number of people who chose not to vote. Trump won two elections by getting people to stay home or vote for a candidate that could not win. Also, our country is largely an uninformed citizenry watching too much sports and entertainment news. Adding the pseudo news who misinform on his behalf, too many Americans do not realize how untruthful he is. So, many complained when he won just like they complained with the Brexit outcome in the UK. But, many of the complainers did not vote.

Hi Keith – I guess this is a wonderful opportunity for everybody to learn something. and to get involved in the next election, but I wonder if they will?
I also find it puzzling how so many Americans cannot see that import tariffs are paid by the importer. It is virtually inevitable therefore that those costs are going to be passed on to the consumer. What happens to all the money collected from tariffs? I can only speculate!

It is a similar story like with his first election. People did not want either candidate and did not realize that they need to vote to prevent a catastrophe… they did not learn. Exactly, the Brexit happened because people did not believe that it would happen at all. They simply did not take it serious. People should learn that they have a voice, and not using it can get them in trouble.

Colin, as for the tariffs Trump either lied to Americans or he does not know how tariffs work. It may be both, but in this case, it is more the latter. Economists have corrected him on his tariffs comments about twenty times. And, in October 2024, he spoke at two economic conferences and truly was incoherent, particularly when he tried to explain tariffs. You can find the verbiage of his comments which are embarrassing. Erika, I love the quote on inner peace. He-who-shall-not-be-named is notorious for being very vindictive. One legislator saw a list on his desk of people in his party he wanted to punish for voting against a bill he wanted. So, as childish as it sounds, saying he using aggression to pay back for not getting a Peace Prize is not hard to fathom. I believe he has taken ownership of and destroying the Kennedy Center as payback for artists refusing to come to the White House to receive their honors. Again, I know that is childish, but it is not hard to fathom. So, back to your theme, we should do our best to ignore (when we can) the destructive comments and behavior of people like the above. Keith

Thank you, Keith. That is exactly, what we all should do. When my kids were little, we went to a parenting class. We learned several techniques of how to reward good behavior and ignore bad behavior as far as possible. As sad and surreal as it sounds, but that is exactly how He-who-shall-not-be-named has to be treated. If everyone did, what did anyone has go fear? So, all we can do is keeping up the path we can identify with and keep our backbone strong!
