Yes, right! There are programs like car sharing. But to be honest, I don’t feel like paricipating either. I thought about going to work by bus (it is the only option) instead of my car (even though it is an electric car and we charge it almost only with our own generated energy). The problem here is that the busses get stuck in the morning and evening traffic as well and since they have to stop all few 100 meters it takes ages until you arrive. I would need three times the time compared by going by car. So, here is so much potential for needed improvement.

Hi Erika, your blog made me remember the Covid lockdown when everything was shut down and nature healed itself like we could see the Venice canals clearing up and even in India from a lot of places you could actually see the peaks of the Himalayan mountains, so it just made me realize that if man does not intervene into nature, nature has ability to self heal….

Yes, Erika, all these natural disasters that are happening are kind of the way the Earth is like processing the cleanup!!! I hope mankind can be more cognizant of Mother Nature 🧿🫶🏻

Dear Sue, thank you so much for everything you do and say here on WP. You never miss to make me think and/or solidify hope and faith. I too could not spend as much time on WP as I thought I should, but that’s live. The important part is that when we are here we are with all our hearts, right?

Erika, taking care of the earth appears in various religious texts. I attended a Sierra Club meeting with a panel of a Rabbi, an Imam, a Catholic priest and a Baptist minister who said such. There is an old Jewish proverb about planting a tree for future generations to get fruit and shade, Keith

Right, it is what many forget: our home! And it is in everybody’s responsibility to take care of it. I am glad you think so, Mark. Although the awareness has grown a lot in the past years, still we need more of it to make the change this beautiful world needs 💖

I shouldn’t say this but…many things need to be almost destroyed before those changes come about, we fight them so tenaciously. But it is in going through its pain that we learn, even for many basic things that we go through…and become something more. Finding an appreciation after going through something so powerfully.
Maybe like someone we know that has truly gone through something so hard that we can see it has changed them. Their appearance, their way of being, their hearts. But in doing so they shine so differently, share on another level, touch us where before they did not.
I pray very hard that the earth doesn’t need this kind lady…but maybe that is what the change is where the earth will be changed into something very beautiful and profound, maybe it too goes where we go. And to do so is a very rough road…for us all. But gradually harmonizing into that beauty that only love can be 🤗🎄🎅🎶🎁🕊️🦌☃️❤️🙏

I see this the same way. Sometimes everything has to break down that we are forced to build everything up new from our gained experience. Sometimes only because of that breaking down we are able to understand. And sometimes we need to go through hardships in order to appreciate the beauty that has waited for us, but before we were not ready to see it.

I fear that we (or maybe the generation after us) will have to take the consequences from all the crimes we did on nature. And we did it for convenience and joy (just think of cruise ships – they have no other purpose than riding in a circle but are the worst climate killers). I had disturbing visions already years ago and I hope and pray too that we still realize that we have to change our way of living (and loving) in many aspects dramatically.
