The purpose of my blog is to inspire and shine a light on the beauty and power of the wonderful being inside your body. You came into this world to share what only you can give. Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted to, and become the blessing to us all that you were meant to be.

Peace, Song Tuesday

I love this version a lot! It is so powerful! Thank you, Michael, it has been a pretty filled and hectic one. But that is the case when you are gathering too many projects (when even you love each of them), next to two jobs.

Loved it. I think this song presentation is much truer to the lyrics than the Paul Simon original (or the S & G version). There is so much distaste at the end (“… the neon Gods YOU made!” Wonderful.

I feel the same way about this song. To me, it is a different song. I said to Mark that there is such strong energy and deep emotions in each note and word. It makes you listen and think.

I think for me…it is coming from a self anger, a loss from where they feel that they are at, a knowing from that place within that they can see that they too have become a part of this fearful world, held in that stasis inside themselves daring not to speak, dare to go beyond what has ever held them…that self held silence inside us all 😀❤️🙏🏽

Sorry, but as a big fan of Simon and Garfunkel this for me is an abomination! I know that many like it, and Paul Simon has commented favourably on it, but I think it’s horrible!

I totally understand you, Clive. I often (or mostly) struggle with cover versions since they don’t have the “heart” of the original spark that created them. And I understand it even more when you are a fan of the original and/or its artists. So, yes, I understand that truly.

I often have trouble if someone covers a song that I’ve loved for ages, but it helps if they do a good job with it and bring some of their own heart and soul to it. For me, this one didn’t do that. I’m pleased you understand 😊

It is most difficult regarding the songs you grew up with. They are part of your own history. So, of course, I do understand.
However, to me, this version is like a different song and not a version. So, it holds and spreads a different energy that in some way catches my whole attention. It is one of the few covers that I love. But as we all are different so are our tastes and feelings… which is good and necessary 😊

I take the point that they have done it differently from the original and respect that. I just don’t like it! And you’re right – it would be very boring if we all liked the same music!
