#HitsByYears – 1985 #3

In 1985 I was in my last year of High School. The songs I am sharing today (and some other ones I scheduled for this week) remind me the most of our graduation trip. Who remembers these songs?

Tarzan Boy – Baltimora

Into the Groove – Madonna

Nightshift – The Commodores

I hope you like my choices. I know there are so many more famous and great songs that are worth being shared. However, please feel free and share your personal favorite song of 1985 in the comments. Since all of the songs you find here have already been scheduled in advance, you may still find your favorite in a later post anyway.

I haven’t heard the Tarzan Boy song in years, Erika. What memories of listening to that again bought back? It’s a classic forgotten song, so thanks for bringing it back.

In To The Groove is another classic, but I’d never heard the Commodores song before.

It is so exciting to dig those songs out again. Some where on my list right away, some came to my mind when I checked YouTube… So many cool songs. I am glad, I could bring back some memories with my picks.

Defo Madonna. Danced my little booties off to that. And sorry to be a dampener but Tarzan Boy is utter shite… My fav from 1985 has to be Dire Straits Money For Nothing. Saw them that year at Wembley and went pretty bonkers over Knoppfler and his guitar…

There were so many songs that touched us back then, for those emotional waves that we rode. And of course the writers knew how to reach us with such words and music from their own journeys 😀❤️🙏🏽
