Erika, nice metaphor. You reminded me of an old parable. A woman had dressed in a white dress to greet her lover along the path. She was excited and saw a boy with muddy shoes along the path. She picked him up and hugged and talked with him. And, then when she saw he had soiled her dress with his shoes she put him down in anger. Her beau saw her with the boy in her arms and felt she was lovelier than ever at that moment. Yet, she ruined the moment with her anger at the boy. I have long remembered this story.
