… those dirty drops only scream a lot louder than the clean ones…
We are already moving toward the end of January, but when I scheduled this post, it was December 30. On that day, I received a wonderful gift from our dear blogger friend Parneet: his book, Prisons – The Six Secrets of Life. Even when he offered to send me a signed copy, I was touched by his kind gesture. Then, when I held the book in my hands, I was touched again. I know I don’t post here as often as I did a few years ago. I wish I had more time, but “the bills” have to be paid, too. That’s why I appreciate such loving gestures all the more and hope I can give back some of what I receive here.
But that was just one thing that made my eyes watery. In the last days of the year until today, I have received so much appreciative feedback in the comments here that words fail me. Even co-workers, clients, patients, and people I have only met for moments have managed to touch me deeply with gestures, kind actions, and words. There has hardly been a time in my life when I have been more aware of this and felt more embedded in the community called humanity. Today, as I write these lines, I am more aware than ever of how much love there is on this planet.
And this is where I would like to start with this post: It’s not that kindness that people do out of a sense of obligation, but rather out of a natural habit that comes from their inner sacred places. I bet that most of you are not even aware of the fact that you are making this world a little brighter and better in this way, because it happens naturally. A single smile that comes from the heart, a word accompanied by shining eyes, selfless, spontaneous support, … that’s what holds this world together. That is what makes us believe in tomorrow. That is, what weighs so much heavier than what we hear on the news.
Love is everywhere, and it is right beside you. It is right inside you. And the love you reflexively give for just a second has that power that heals the world. Let’s practice letting our loving self speak louder than our minds. Not because the mind is bad, but to train the mind how to be better and to get the mind to develop a habit that agrees with the heart.
I thank you – all of you – for every kind deed and word you have left for anyone.
It is the fairy dust that spreads the magic of love.
It is the spark that lights up a heart.
It is the input that someone needs to change their life for the better.
In Love and Light
