Erika, while we all can fall into this trap, we have a few folks we have involvement with where seemingly everything is difficult. My wife is such a great listener, she collects friends who need an audience and, sometimes, it just wears her out. Keith

That is the threat when compassion is so strong. And as you said, people like your wife even attract people who need her support. That’s why it is not selfish to take time-outs for oneself to fill up the cup again.

Agreed. It is hard for her to not bring home the challenges of the other. Time outs are needed and valued. She went for a lunch at 1:30 pm the other day with one of these folks and left said lunch at 5 pm, only to be briefly asked at the end, how she and our family was doing. Keith

Although this can be frustrating and maybe she feels a bit used at times. But it sounds to me that she has an important mission to fulfill. In the end, maybe she needs to look at it that way because she still will be there for others, no matter what, it is her nature. Actually, it also shows how appreciated she i. But nevertheless, it requires that there are other people who do obviously care how she is doing. I know she has them in your family at least.

We most certainly attract where we are at. Maybe that’s why there is always big trucks going past my place with big chocolate pictures all over the side of it…or is it just me? 😂 🤣
