My Land of Liberty

Whatever thought comes to my mind
Whatever word I say
They all form pictures in my heart
And take me far away

Into a land where thoughts are free
And words joyfully shared
Where it’s allowed that I am me
No reason to be scared

A land that’s just a thought away
My destination clear
Each thought takes me into your heart
I have arrived to stay

Nicely done, Erika. A kindred spirit to whom you can reveal intimate thoughts. It could be a lover, a sister, or a close friend that you whisper things to on a pillowcase or when walking together on a beach or park.

Erika, I was remembering the movie “Nell” with Jodie Foster, about the girl who grew up alone in a cabin in the deep woods. Her twin sister had died and people could not understand her, in part, because the sisters had their own version of the language. Keith

That’s a good example. In the end, the language to communicate does not necessarily be in words or in a specific language. It is the heart that is expressed and understood. I have never seen that movie but heard of it. I will check out if it is available on Netflix. Thanks for the tip, Keith!
