As we learned yesterday, one of the most popular European bands experienced the loss of its lead singer. Gun-Marie Bolyos alias Marie Fredriksson died after a 17 year-long battle against cancer at the age of 61.
Keith of MusingsOfAnOldFart asked me to do a memorial post. It is a good idea and I will share a few songs out of a huge list of their hits. The first one is Keith’s favorite.
The Look (1988)
It Must Have Been Love (1986)
Joyride (1991)
How Do You Do (1992)
Sleeping In My Car (1994)
Milk And Toast And Honey (2001)
She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio) (2011)
It Just Happens (2016)
RIP, Marie 💖

Back when MTV and VH1 played music videos, Roxette’s music videos were in heavy rotation. Thank you for putting together this wonderful music tribute for Marie.

Roxette were big from the first release on. And whatever they published it was a success.

Erika, thanks for the nice tribute. She was only in her late twenties and early thirties when these were filmed. Memories are frozen in time. She will forever be remembered as in these videos. Keith

Yes, she was. They had hits over 3 decades! It is a peculiar feeling to see her in those videos and remember those times in my own life while knowing that she’s gone. For sure she will never be forgotten. Again, thank you for the idea, Keith!

Thanks Erika. Jeff of BrookingsLib and I were discussing fond memories of Crosby Stills Nash and Young on my post “Confusion has its cost.” Music and music groups are like milestones in our lives.

That is the magical thing about music. It is with us during our lives and hearing a particular song or any song opens up a file inside and releases the feelings we felt back then. Music is like a conducting medium and that’s why it is used during learning processes too! It is connected with our memories.
