I heard a beautiful version of “Country Roads” this morning. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it on YouTube, BUT…. I found something even better. This cover version is fantastic in general, but also because the artist does every voice and instrument himself, AND because of the creative video. This guy is amazing! But check it out for yourselves.
Lately, I have bought a new CD player. The old one had been driving me nuts. So, the new one also has a cassette deck… yay! I dug out all my tapes. Many of them were self-recorded from the weekly chart show on the radio. So many treasures I forgot. Most of all, I immediately turned to some particular cassettes of Shakin’ Stevens. I decorated the walls of my room with posters of him. I had autographs, pillows, T-Shirts, scarfs, flags, buttons and patches all over my jeans jacket, and whatever you can think.
I really hope that you are not tired of Céline Dion yet, but I have been listening to her songs for weeks and can’t get enough. Somehow they really catch my heart lately and inspire me in so many ways. So, more songs on my list to share…
Lately, I am sharing quite a lot love songs of Céline Dion, like today again. I just discovered so many that really go to heart and speak to me strongly… and there are some more on my list to be shared in the coming weeks.
It has to be a Whitney again today! I forgot about this song but I am happy that I stumbled over it again. Such a beautiful song! Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody!
Don’t we all know that love has its own ways of touching our hearts and waking us up to the most beautiful dreams? It just happens… and love doesn’t aske why… Happy Romantic Tuesday!
Imagine you searching for happiness, for love, and although there may be many disappointments on the way, your hope and belief are still glooming. The more overwhelming, in a beautiful way, it is when one day, you turn around and look in the eyes of love, not expecting it at all. A moment, that changes everything. Happy Romantic Tuesday!
Happy first romantic Tuesday on my blog for this year! Here we go with a song that is one of my favorites when it comes to uplifting, motivating, looking up, spreading the wings, and flying. It may not seem like a love song at first. But it is since it can be seen in so many ways, for different relationships, or just for oneself. I thought it was a good first song to start this year!
Why not going with some Christmas love songs to fit the holiday season? Yes, Mariah Carey, but not the one song you may expect (I am a bit fed up with that one). It is a bit more on the melancholic side but beautiful anyway. Not everybody can celebrate Christmas together. Life has its own mind at times, and most of all this year, it is even more difficult. But regardless of how life looks today, we are working on a better tomorrow, don’t we? And that should lift our spirit to make it through!
For today I found a sweet and light romantic country song. The simple message is that whether near or far, love and the ones we love can have their ongoing reality in our dreams. Happy Romantic Tuesday!
I hope you are doing well and you already have found into this young week. Let’s go with a little love or with the way love goes… Happy Romantic Tuesday!
I thought of one of the most beautiful love songs which I first heard on the soundtrack of the movie Ghost. But I am sharing a different version sung by the King. Have a wonderful day!
Although I am not making it to my regular weekly posts, I don’t want to skip my Romantic Tuesday. For today, I picked something romantic and sensual… Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody!
Happy Tuesday, everybody! The summer sun may slowly lose its power but we can still keep our inner flames burning… most of all when it is that one eternal flame.
Happy Romantic Tuesday! I hope you have started your week well. Let’s keep it going with a classic song in the version of one of the lead singers of a legendary band.
Another 3-days school weekend lies behind me and another big birthday party weekend in front of me. The youngest one of my three children turns 18 next Saturday, and of course, he will get the same big party as his siblings. Eventually, after the coming weekend, the big craziness of the past six weeks may be over, and I hope that I can slowly get back to my regular posting habits. A big THANK YOU to all of you who have been so patient with me.
I found something very touching for this Romantic Tuesday. It seems that Westlife really knows how to deliver deep feelings. Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody!
Since I already posted a song from Katie Melua last week, I cannot hide that I like her songs. I do love the style, the lyrics, her voice, and the way she orchestrates the whole composition. Here we go with another one of her romantic song collection.
Here are some energizing and uplifting summer tunes for your day and the upcoming weekend! There may be no carnival this year in Rio, nevertheless, we won’t let the zest for life leave our hearts, will we?
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody! Every decade has brought up some legendary artists and songs. To me, still, the 80s are the top decade regarding this. A decade which changed the world of music forever and until today, the songs are played frequently on the radio stations together with brand new songs. So, today, I am sharing a lovely song for a slow dance from one of the greatest artists that emerged in the early 80s.
Today, I am sharing a song of a great Norwegian soprano voice. I know her from a Christmas concert with Placido Domingo and Charles Aznavour in 1993. Her voice reminded me of a bell and was extremely powerful at the same time. While browsing through YouTube, I stumbled over her and her songs. She still has a voice that touches something in the heart. Enjoy Sissel Kyrkjebø!
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody! I hope your week has started well. I remembered a song I used to listen to over and over again after I heard it for the first time. When I listened to the song again, I can tell that it has not lost a bit of its touching effect. How about you?
I was 16 when I went to London for the second time in my life. Not only London was special but the fact, that my best friend went along. It was her first trip to a foreign country and that even with a plane! However, on my way back I had some singles (remember?) in my suitcase like Breaking Up My Heart (Shakin’ Stevens), Material Girl (Madonna), and the one below. Who remembers?
I found a beautiful song that totally captured my heart. When you let go and open up, when you stop searching but simply open up your arms, love will find you in the most unexpected ways.
Happy #RomanticTuesday, everybody! I hope you are doing good and whatever you are doing you are doing it with love. Because when turning your mindset to love, magical things can happen…
Good morning and happy Romantic Tuesday. I wish you to find some romance in whatever you do when whether it is to drink a cup of tea or coffee on your own, lighten a candle, open the window, inhale the fresh air, hum a song. Perhaps the one below..
I hope you had a lovely when even different Easter weekend. Over here, Easter starts on Good Friday and ends on Easter Monday (the actual resurrection day). That means we are still in a 4-day weekend. Even in these days, it brings some more relaxation since I am still going to work next to my self-employment. That is also the reason why you won’t find a Monday post today, but instead I am sharing a song which I think is beautifully fitting both Easter and these times. Have a good week wherever you are and whatever you do. And most of all, stay healthy.
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody. I am coming up with another powerful song. Two heart which make one have not only double but multiple the power for making it through everything.
I hope everybody is doing good and you had a beautiful weekend. The weather over here was simply gorgeous – blue skies and wonderful warm again. Whatever work I had to do, I did it outside. Next to some spring cleaning, I made some herbal cremes and tinctures, I worked on labels and ingredient tags and could focus on my studies. I even found the time for baking a cake, just so, for the afternoon coffee. On Saturday, I visited my mom – we had a coffee chat in her garden while sitting about 25 inches apart… lol. And of course, on Sunday, I got up at 4.45 am for the global meditation. Yes, it was a great weekend. Back to another unusual but interesting work week for me (partly office, partly home office).
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody. First of all, I hope everybody is well and those of you who are meant to stay at home are making good use of their time. It can be even more romantic regarding the person you are with during that time. For all of you who are, enjoy the moments. And for all of you who are not, love knows not time nore distance. When it is love then they are with you at all times.
The last day of the 1975 hits week has come. Of course, I can impossibly close this week without sharing one of the greatest compositions in rock/pop history ever. Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Another song, which feels typical for the 70s to me, comes from Linda Ronstadt. It is not my favorite one of hers but I like it and it reminds me a lot of my childhood.
The many languages here in Europe are of course also reflected in the music we hear on the radio every day. Today, English is the most commonly heard language. But the further back in time you go, the more the hits were mainly sung in the national language of the singer or the band. I believe that at least my European friends may remember the song I am sharing today.
Happy #RomanticTuesday, everybody. #HitsByYears or not, it has to be a romantic song on a Tuesday. It es even better when it is one of the foot-tapping kind. Have a great day!
Another course weekend has come to an end yesterday which for another Hits By Years week. We have arrived in 1975 and for the start I picked a song from a Dutch Band that was very big at that time. To me it appeared as if it was played everywhere and I remember me singing it. Who remembers this song too?
Hello, everybody! I spent part of last weekend in a spa hotel in Tyrol, Austria. Because of my busy life, I enjoyed it, even more, to relax for at least a few hours. The hotel was amazing, and the huge spa area there is spread over 3 floors. I was in all the steam baths, the different pools (including an outdoor infinity pool), relaxed in the different lounges on normal beds, water beds, heated beds… YAY!!
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody! I found another beautiful song for today. I think all of those who have found that one and only may feel like they have found their personal angel.
What is the solid ground love builds for two people? It is more than holding hands and romance. It is trusting each other blindly. The security that both have their backs no matter what happens. Walking through life’s storms and climbing its mountains together. No matter what life takes or gives, they can rely on each other and if one is too weak the other one will carry both.
After kicking the week off with a probable active Monday for many of you some calming sounds may be welcomed… next to the beautiful song itself. Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody.
Good morning and happy Monday, everybody! The past two weeks kept me occupied with work and studies, as you may have noticed due to my absence. However, I hope this week is more or less back to normal. It is amazing to follow a dream and get confirmed that it is the right path to go by feeling so much joy and energy coming back. I will never stop developing dreams. So, dream on!
Last weekend was the first one of my phytotherapy education. I am excited that it finally started. But it also means, that on 8 weekends during this year I will be in a classroom all day from Friday through Sunday. I decided that on those weekends I won’t work on any posts for my blog. Therefore, today there will be no Monday post. But instead, I scheduled a song post once again.
Although I have known the song I am sharing today, Ellie Goulding’s version is new to me. She has a way to give the question she asks in the lyrics such a deep meaning. And the way she sings it feels as if the answer has already existed before the question was asked. A I wish all of you a wonderful and happy (Romantic Tues)day!
I know, that my song posts have become a bit rare, lately. At least, I try to keep up the Romantic Tuesday songs. Most of all when I found a wonderful song like the one below. Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody!
There has been no snow this season. We only had some snowflakes in late November. Looking back at last year there was a danger of avalanches in all ski regions around here because of the heavy and constant snowfall. But this year it is simply too warm. When I found the following video on YouTube, I felt a longing for snow days and snowy landscapes. I had never thought I could feel like this, but I do miss it. And it scares me regarding climate change.
The 4th of Advent has arrived. Only two more days until Christmas Eve. When I looked out for the Mel & Kim version of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, I found a lovely new one. This time with Kim Wilde and Nick Kershaw which was produced in memory of Mel Smith. This time we will go with this one.
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody. Christmas as the feast of love can be hard when THE one person who is the closest to our hearts is not around but feels even closer than at any other time of the year.
As we learned yesterday, one of the most popular European bands experienced the loss of its lead singer. Gun-Marie Bolyos alias Marie Fredriksson died after a 17 year-long battle against cancer at the age of 61.
Cheers to all those who made us collect all the beautiful and treasured memories we hold in our hearts. What we experienced can not be taken away anymore. Although it may be memories now, at least we had it! Cheers!
TGIF!! YAY! This is the first weekend of Advent over here. The first Advent is actually the official beginning of our Christmas season. As a tradition we are lighting one more candle on each of the four Sundays before Christmas on an advent wreath.
Happy Monday, everybody! I hope you guys had a nice weekend. My weekend was busy like most weeknds are and today’s sunrise reminded me of how relative time is and how short a weekend can be… lol Anyway, new week – new chance! Have a good start!
Wow, it’s already Friday again. For some of us that day can never arrive to fast and others would be glad to have given an extra day per week to squeeze all there activities in… lol. However, I want you to have a great weekend and be careful… you never know what it may bring…
Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody. Don’t I always love to write about love? And don’t I always love to say although physical distance can be a challenge it can never seperate two souls once they are connected in and by love. This song expresses this extremely beautiful.
The new week has us back and I hope you guys spent a lovely weekend. For sure those in Venice haven’t had time to enjoy anything but was rather dominated by fear and hard work. The damages on the city, shops, houses, and most of all on and in all of those historic buildings are dramatic. When I scheduled this post at least no one got harmed yet. Let’s pray for our sisters and brothers that the situation rectifies soon and that Venice won’t sink.
Lots of versions out there of the song I am sharing today. The original was published by The Dixie Cups in 1965. It was part of movie soundtracks like Hangover and Rain Man (of which the version I picked comes from). Which version ever, it has always been a song that made me tapping my feet. Enjoy and have a great Friday! Read more ›
Happy Monday, everybody! The weekend is over and some of us may feel like not so alive anymore. I hope this song brings some more life back into your week. Have a great day! Read more ›
I don’t know why I have not thought of sharing this song yet. Perhaps only lately, it was knocking on my door a little harder since I am excited about following my dreams much more determined again. I put them all into drawer for the past few years and focused more on making a living. But the voice of those dreams has become louder and louder until one of them may have escaped the drawer and led me to an initial situation which made me see how empty my life had become with ignoring them. As long as we have our dreams, believe in them, and take every possible step and action to realize them we don’t need to put them into a drawer. Because then doors will open and new roads will appear. Have a wonderful weekend and dream until the cows come home!! Read more ›
What I like about posting music is that I often come across beautiful songs and wonder why I had never heard them before. The one I am sharing today is one of those. Really beautiful and the perfect song for a slow dance. Actually it is a cover version. The original was written and performed by Don Williams. I like country music a lot and so this song totally captured my heart. I hope you like it too. Happy Romantic Tuesday! Read more ›

As a complete 80s kid I had some difficulties finding into some music styles the 90s generated. But some 90s songs are amongst my favorites like the one I am sharing today. I liked it a lot although the lyrics went unnoticed back then. But after I recognized them I liked the song even more. May the weekend be that inspiring that it takes you to a higher ground. Happy Friday Read more ›
There are songs we may have heard very often. The song I am sharing today was definitely played up and down the radio stations for weeks, even months, after it was released. It is a master piece of a ballad and the ultimate love song. Lately, I came across it again and since I haven’t heard it for a long time it touched me deeply again. Read more ›

Let’s go back in time a bit again today. But not too far, only to the early 90s… uhm, yes, just noticed… that is already about 30 years ago. Time really becomes more relative the older you get… lol! Anyway, let’s “step” into the weekend with the sounds of one of the first boy groups. Happy Friday, everybody! Read more ›
I think it is not necessary to see or find love in order to believe in it. Sometimes there is a clear vision, something the heart sees long before it comes into the vision of the eyes. When that vision is held tight to the heart the path of meeting this love is laid, one day the eyes will discover what the heart always knew. Read more ›
Happy Monday, everybody! Here we are, back in a new week. I remembered a wonderful song by Christina Aguillera which I listened to over and over again when I heard it first. It was around the time when I began to write “I’m Free” 10 years ago. This song touched me deeply with its powerful message. There is so much encouragement and understanding in it. Regardless of what you are told or of what you have told yourself, there is something inside of you which never believed your destructive thoughts. The voice within never stopped telling you how amazing you are… because you are! Read more ›
For the last song of this special hits week, I go with one of my favorite songs ever. A song that always makes my eyes watery listening to it but watching this video touches my heart even more. A song that has to be part of this collection of greatest song of 1972. Happy Friday! Read more ›
This 1972 week is almost coming to an end although there are so many more great songs which would be worth sharing. It is always a task to select only 5 songs. But I am sure you agree with me that this song must not be missing. Read more ›
The song I am sharing today I know from my teenager years although it was released when I was only 2 years old. I think the excitement for heavy mental was not so big for my parents … lol. I love this song since although it is a 70s’s song it reminds me of the 80s and being at the discotheque with my class mates. Read more ›
Hi, everybody and welcome in the new week. As you may have figured, this week (and probably the next one too) I will share songs of long-gone days instead of my usual posts. There is too much going on on the weekends (I spare you the details – remember rule #6.😉) and I cannot manage to write or schedule those posts. So be curious and enjoy the journey back in time. Lately, I was reminded of Frank Stallone. I don’t know how many albums he published. But I remembered a handful of songs I really loved during the 80s. Born in 1970, the 80s were the decade where I started waking up to my own life. So, I am a complete kid of the 80s and therefore that music is still part of me. For this Friday I am sharing a song which may be almost forgotten since there are one or two other songs of that artist which are basically heard. Unleash your fantasy and have a great weekend! It is Tuesday again, yay! I am always looking forward to browsing YouTube for romantic songs. It is exciting to be reminded of beautiful songs from long ago. But also the younger years generate very beautiful love songs. The one I am sharing today is following me lately whenever I am listening on the radio. I think it wants to be posted 😉 Happy Romantic Tuesday, everybody! Read more ›
Yes, it is Monday again but so what? We keep flying across the day and make it an awesome one. In the end, it is all in our heads and I agree with Wayne Dyer: Every morning, in your first view of the day, you have the choice to say, ‘Good morning, God‘ or ‘Good God, morning.’ Happy Monday, everybody.
