I am happy that Jan accepted my blog for hosting her for her latest book: “Saddled Hearts”. But not only that, she even allowed me to set the closing point for her four weeks blog tour. I appreciate Jan very much as a compassionate and thoughtful woman who is not only a channel for spiritual messages but also a bottomless vessel of imagination. So, thank you for sharing this all with us, Jan.
And now, the floor is yours:
I can’t think of a better place to bring this book blog tour to a close, Erika. Thank you so much for offering to host! It’s a pleasure to be here on your beautiful blog site to talk about my latest release, Saddled Hearts.
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like you were on the outside looking in? I always think of a child with his nose pressed up against a store window, dreaming of playing with the toy train inside. I’ve felt it many times. I was raised in a very restrictive religion that prevented me from participating in many normal childhood activities. I longed, just once, to be on the inside looking out. Of course, since then, I’ve had many experiences that satisfied that longing. But because it made such a deep impression on me, I wanted to include it in this book. Sage Coventry is a widow. Her husband has been gone for five years, and she’s buried herself in her work, closing off all hope for any other kind of life. So, when Colt Layne comes bounding in, she’s finding herself thinking and feeling differently. I liked her explanation here.
Let’s go on a scavenger hunt! Hidden within the blog posts are clues you will need to look for.
The theme is “Things You’d Find On A Ranch.”
When you find these clues, email your answers to me at

EXCERPT #1:
Colt and the rest of the band rearranged speakers on risers and did a soundcheck.
“How does it sound out there?” Colt asked through the microphone, looking directly at Sage.
She stepped from behind the table. “It sounds good from here. Want me to go to the back and see?”
Colt nodded. “Thanks, gorgeous.”
Her cheeks flushed as she hurried to the back. Colt ran through the first stanza of “Johnny B. Goode.”
She smiled at a cluster of people around a windchime vendor’s booth. There was something special about being part of the band, and she could tell from the looks they gave, they thought so, too.
Add this to her growing list of first-time experiences.

EXCERPT #2:
Sage twirled her drink in the cup and drained the last of it. “You know that last song Deryl sang tonight, about being on the outside looking in?”
“Yeah. Great song.” Colt stretched his long legs out toward the fire.
“That’s how I’ve felt since Jasper died. We had a good life. We loved, laughed, played, and lived. I’ve come to hate all those d words.”
Colt sat up and patted his lap. “Come here.”
Sage hesitated for a split second before she stood and set her empty cup on the nearest table. She sat sideways on his lap, resting her head against his chest.
Underneath, his heart thrummed strong and steady in her ear as he wrapped his arms around her.
“If I have anything to do with it, you’ll never feel like that again.” He stroked her hair.
An unbidden tear slipped out and trickled down her cheek, landing on his shirt. “I didn’t feel that way today.” She gazed up at him. “Today, I was on the inside looking out, and I liked it.”

First, I want to thank everyone who has traveled along with me on this lengthy book tour. Your support, sharing, kind words, and interaction has made it all worthwhile. I count myself very lucky to have such wonderful people like you to keep me company!
Now, it’s your turn. Have you ever been in a situation where it was reversed, and you truly felt like you were sitting at the adult table instead of with the kids? Let’s talk!
BOOK BLURB:
Colt Layne owns the Layne Horse Sanctuary. He lives an idyllic life between caring for the animals and playing music with his band. That is until a stranger appears with unreasonable demands. When someone murders the man, Colt is arrested. He’s been framed, but by whom and why?
He needs to talk with his deceased grandfather. But that’s impossible. Or is it?
Sage Coventry is gifted with the ability to communicate with the deceased. Skeptical but desperate, when Colt consults with her, he gets more than messages from beyond the grave as she breezes into his heart with sweet patchouli fragrance and tempting lips he longs to kiss.
The race against time to clear his name and save the ranch launches them on a mission that brings shocking revelations.
