We don’t need to identify with negative thoughts whether from an outside source or within. We can use them through as inspiration for perseverance in pursuing our goals.

That’s right, such voices can actually be very motivating. I remember a quote that says: there is nothing more motivation for me than if I here someone saying “you can’t”.
