When I looked out of the window this morning I hardly could believe that one week ago I was sweating under a cloudless blue sky. Winter has shown its first signs and everything was covered with snow – thank God not the streets. However, everything is already melting away and the temperatures are supposed to rise again.
This inspires me to dig into my digital photo box and share some impressions of our trip to Santa Barbara 10 days ago. It was my first time in this beautiful city. The weather was gorgeous throughout the time. We arrived around noon and rented bikes in order to explore the closer surrounding. The hotel was located very close to the harbor. On one hand, we simply thought it was fun to bike around and on the other hand, the distances were too close to go by car but too far to walk.
Now take a look at another treasure of the west coast.

The harbor

It wasn’t easy to make it dry through the waves crashing against the harbor walls. But we made it!

The beautiful pier with a little shopping and restaurant village

Pelicans all over. Those big birds were patiently waiting for a treat from the fishermen…

OK, we did not really drive through the sand. That’s only for the photo.

State Street: The most beautiful, cutest, and atmospheric shopping mile I’ve ever been to.

And or dinner we found a very cool place to eat. We sat outside and enjoyed the incredible decoration.

If you are once on the west coast take a turn and stop at Santa Barbara!

What a beautiful place – that cycle ride looks amazing, except for the pelican – they kind of freak me out!! I know how you feel Erika – I too can hardly believe a week ago we were hot under blue skies!! No snow here but grey, dark and so wet….

What I like about England is that you are having a mild climate and mostly no snow! But on the other hand you don’t have to fear any drought 😉
