Impressions of Lake Garda and its Area

As promised, here I am, back with some photos of another picturesque place of this planet. This time, we stayed in a vacation apartment in a camping resort directly at the lake. It was a different kind of vacation, very uncomplicated and therefore even more relaxing and rejuvenating. The weather was gorgeous. We rented bikes and explored a part of the closer area, chilled at the pool, took walks at the promenade, and visited a few beautiful places.

On The Road Again Soon!

Mistakenly, I had this post scheduled for yesterday and had it online for a few hours. For those who have not seen it yet, here it is again on the right day😂

Buon giorno, amici! It’s only been two weeks since I returned from our family vacation in Corfu. But as I said in my post: set an anchor in the future! I took my own words to heart and booked a few days at a camping resort on Lake Garda in Italy a few weeks before we left for Corfu. So, in a couple hours we’re heading southward again to enjoy sun, warmth, and a relaxing time.

Summer Break 🌞🌴🌊

Over here, it is the first day for the kids to go back to school. For us, it is the first day of our vacation. It is not six weeks like the school kids had, but I am more than happy with two weeks. Right now, we are already at the airport to catch our flight to Corfu (Greece). The trip was planned last year as a gift my husband and I made each other for our 50th birthdays. We wanted to have a vacation together with all our (already grown-up) kids and my mother. But “Life Corona happened while we were making other plans”. Therefore, we are looking even more forward to the coming days.

#JustAThought – What’s the big deal?

So far, it has been a wet and cold summer. Unlike the last two to three years, we have not had a heatwave or drought during the summer months. We have had a few thunderstorms that have scared even me, a self-confessed thunderstorm lover. But we have been really lucky so far, while areas just a half-hour away from us have had no luck. But as is probably the nature of us humans, so many complain and complain. I understand that it’s not easy when the kids are on summer vacation, and you can’t make plans for trips in the area or further afield.

This song was actually supposed to appear in my next #HitsByYears week since it is from 1983. But it is one of those songs I love to remember. It was a big summer hit over here. Even though when I scheduled this post, there was nothing but rain, thunderstorms, and very cool temps, I do enjoy listening to it. It brings the summer feeling back. Just in case, Agnetha Fältskog is one of the ABBA ladies. Enjoy!

A Trip to Our Higher Regions

Yesterday afternoon we made a little trip to the hiking and skiing region of our country. Yes, for once, we stayed in little Liechtenstein instead of going to neighboring Switzerland. Here we also have many beautiful and different areas, despite the small size of the country. The small village is called Steg and is (like Malbun) in the warm season a popular starting point for many hikes. In winter, there are some cross-country skiing trails here. The ski lifts are located in the neighboring community of Malbun.

Not Ignoring You But…

… this week was a bit on the crazy side. I worked more hours in my employed job, and there was also more to do in my self-employed job, next to some private stuff that squeezed in. However, I threw everything overboard and enjoyed some hours at Lake Constance (Swiss lakeside) this afternoon. It has been boiling hot and humid today again. So, it was just great to walk a little along the shore, empty the mind, and later enjoy some cool treats. And I needed this break to charge my batteries.

Enjoying A Gorgeous Summer Day🌞🏔🍧

After about two weeks of rain, we are enjoying our first real summer weekend. Yesterday, my husband and I decided spontaneously to take a trip to a nearby alpine lake (the Voralp Lake) in Switzerland. It is another beautiful and scenic place that is only about 25 minutes away from where we live. We walked around the lake and enjoyed some coffee, cake, and ice cream at the end. I enjoyed this spontaneous trip and the visit to the small lake restaurant so much. It felt like being on vacation, and it energized me like that.

My Little Paradise #1

During the coming summer weeks, I will change my posting routine. I want to take my time to work on my projects and studies peacefully and more focused. Also, I will put enjoying myself and the weather first for charging my batteries and centering myself again. That means I won’t be posting daily but will take the chance to share pictures of my garden occasionally, as well as posting spontaneous when inspiration hits me. I will be back at my regular postings any time in August. But now let me take you to the first stop in my garden.

Song of the Day

Our bass playing blog sister Marissa requested the first Song of the Day. It definitely is a perfectly fitting song for the season. I still remember that song very well back in 1983. It was played on the radio stations up and down.  Here for you, Marissa 😊 Read more ›

A Sunny Funny Song of the Day!

Easter is over. Easter Monday is also a holiday over here. But today everybody is at work again (except my daughter; she is off for the next two weeks – lucky girl). The next two weeks is no school and therefore I am also a little more flexible in my daily schedules and appointments with my clients.

I am thinking of taking some time off from blogging in order to finally finish my fifth book. I only have to work on my last chapter. But the last time I was working on it was 2 years ago. I have to change and add a lot. I don’t know if I can stay away too long since I would miss you all sooooo much. But I would let you know and be back for my 1 year anniversary in May! Read more ›
