Emotional Independence
You may be disappointed
By people in your life
By how they treat you which’s
Like being stabbed with a knife
But as long as they are
Not ready for your view
You only stab yourself
When even they don’t do
Maybe you need to learn
To take them as they are
Or if you cannot bear
To go away quite far
You put wings on a tiger
Want it to soar the sky
But it is still a tiger
And not able to fly
Think of what is important
What you don’t want to miss
Change attitude or person
Don’t create your own abyss

Beautiful. We do need to learn to fly. Thinking of the Tom Petty song now. ❤️

Learning to fly away from our own limitations on others and especially on ourselves. Hmm, now the song is playing in my head too 😂

Such a powerful message! I love the tiger analogy.

Thank you, Jan! I have used it for about 15 years. It shows clearly that you cannot change someone only because you wish they were different for your benefit.

Wise words dear Erika… Indeed… Whether it be words or sticks and stones… All come back like a boomerang, So we need to be mindful what we dish out… For it will always fly back eventually… ❤ One always has to look in the mirror… And as my grandma used to say, an old saying.. People who live in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones!…
❤ xx Great Poem Erika x

Ah, yes, we have that same saying in German overhere. What you send out is what you are about to create…. it is that simple! Thank you, Sue, and thank you for always vibrating so lovingly which hopefully gets back to you multiplied, dear friend 💖

Take out the scissors and cut those negative threads. We are responsible for our own emotional well-being.
Powerful poem, Erika 🌞

That’s so important. We can fall easily in the trap of ourself putting us in chains because we make us dependent on other people’s goodwill.

If we wait for others to change, we will end up frustrated and alone. We need to be our own change.
