Haven’t heard this in a long, long time dear lady. Music back then used to be a more heartfelt music, it included you so strongly. Great share, thank you 😀❤️🙏

A lot of depth regarding freedom in the songs of the 70s💖

Really? That’s awesome. I scheduled this post about 5 weeks ago before I went on vacation. So, yes, we truly think alike… hehe.

I’m with David on this, Greyhound’s is the version I grew up knowing. His video link wouldn’t play for me, so I hope this one will:

I could not play it either. So, thank you for adding another one of this version. I like it a lot. Is this the original version? I like it very much too!

I’m glad it played for you. The first recording was by the US folk singer, Pete Seeger, in 1956. Greyhound released their version in 1971 and got to #6 in the UK. Three Dog Night heard that and did their own version – it was a US #1 but did absolutely nothing here, like most of their records 😊

It is interesting how some music can have huge success in one country and no success at all in another, although it is the same language.

It has always been like that. Different tastes appeal to different markets, I guess.

Hi, David, first of all, so good to see you! Thanks for introducing me to this version. I think, I really only knew the Three Dog Night version. Even better to hear the original. Love it! The link did not work for some reason, but Clive added the same version. So, thanks to both of you!
