Erika, that may be true, but we do need more of those silent voices to speak up and say certain behaviors or statements are not right. “Sie haben nicht Recht!” should be said when a politician or sycophant are publicly espousing inane and mean-spirited lies. I recognize in some places, saying your “leader is lying” can get you killed, but at least in those places, one can choose to take everything that is said with a grain of salt. Keith

Keith, I fully agree! Although, in my opinion, there is so much more love than hatred, The loving voices need to speak up more clearly. Also, when it is election day, go voting and set a sign. Trumps election or the Brexit are example when people ignored how much power their voices have.

Erika, well said with the two examples. I recall vividly the aftermath of those two elections where many folks lamented what happened but did not vote. The time to lament was before the vote not after the vote. A very key reason these two elections turned out the way they did is getting people who would have voted against the candidate to stay home. In Trump’s case he shared the list of very conservative judges he would appoint beforehand, so people should have seen what would happen. Yet, he got them to stay home and he won. Keith

PS – Something I say often is we still can be critical of politicians and others without taking their heads off. Say “I don’t agree” or “that action is disappointing.” And, suggest action to remedy it. I call Congressman and Senators often and I try to be as constructive as possible when I speak with staff encouraging them to pass along my message. If I shout at the wind, no one will listen.

That was indeed the big problem! Regarding the Brexit, many who did not wanted the Brexit had not considered it to happen… the problem was that their votes were missing to avoid it. Regarding Trump know of people who said, “I am not fine with either candidate” (but did not want Trump in that position at all). But one of them will be president. So, why not voting for the lesser evel… However, the consequences showed them.
We need to make use of our possibilities when we think that something is not right or could go dramatically wrong!
