Three weeks ago, we spent some wonderful days in a spa hotel in the German/Austrian Alps. Since I know that many of you would like to see some pictures, I am happy to share some of the impressions with you.
We went to Balderschwang (appr. 1’000 m above sea level), which is just over the Austrian border in Germany. Our arrival day was the nicest day as far regarding the weather (and so was the weather on the departure day). So we decided to go for a walk in the afternoon. The first two photos were taken directly from our hotel room. Then you can see a shot looking towards our hotel and the small village, followed by some impressions from our walk:
The next day it poured almost all day. Since we had booked treatments anyway, we decided to spend the day at the hotel by the pool (a warm infinity pool indoors and outdoors) – after a workout in the hotel gym, of course. For the next day, we planned to go to Oberstdorf, which is known for its ski flying and ski jumping hills. When I opened the curtains in the morning, I was greeted by the first snow of the season.
Can you imagine jumping into the sky from this height? 😱
As I said, we had fantastic weather on our departure day and decided to have dinner in a restaurant on the opposite mountain range at 1’806 m above sea level, accompanied by one of our children. We went there by cable car and experienced a very special atmosphere. On one side of the mountain it was already dark, while on the other side the sky was still glowing.
The follwoing shot was taken towards that mountain chain from our house a day later. The snow has already gone again.
Psst… last weekend we spent a couple days in South Tyrol (Italy). I will be back with some photos from Meran and Bozen soon…

You got that right, Michael 😄 I love my hometown but I would never want to miss living in this area. We had a wonderful weekend in South Tyrol and returened on the Halloween evening. You know, I lived in the States for more than a year and after we were back we celebrated Halloween with the kids and went “trick or treat”ing. And I decorated the house and around the house like a champion. But since the kids are grown-up it is not the same anymore. Also there were no kids knocking at our door this year. But we watched a Halloween movie 😄
