Erika, well said. In this vein, I don’t know if you have seen the documentary “Pavarotti.” It is excellent, even for folks who are not opera fans. I know you sing operatically, so you will appreciate it even more than me. The documentary ties in with your daily quote. A take away is from the first Three Tenors performance. The tenors got along marvelously and easily divided up who would sing what. Yet, when they started singing on stage, the friendly competition started and each tried to out do the others. Keith

Ha, I never thought of this but you are so right. I was lucky to see one of the concerts of the Three Tenors in Vienna. And yes, now that you say it, it really happened to be kind of a competition. But I don’t know if it had to do with inspiration but more with the ego patting them on the shoulders… lol

Erika, maybe a little bit of both. Cooperative competition within groups can create great performances and songs – think Lennon-McCartney, Frey-Henley in The Eagles, or the Tin Pan Alley or Motown rivalries. Wanting to outdo a great performance raises the bar. Keith
