From Thursday night on, winter wanted to show us that it still has power over the season. It snowed heavily. For the first hours, we had some ugly winds too. On Thursday afternoon, I was shoveling the driveway three times. Later, my son took over, thank God. But once it was done, we could have started over again. It snowed for almost two days. Liechtenstein and parts of Switzerland, Austria, and Germany were concerned with complete traffic chaos, blocked streets (also because of broken trees and branches), and avalanche alerts. Here are some expressions from the last days:
These photos are from Thursday afternoon. Look at the barbecue grill in the background of the first picture and also the mailbox. Keep it in mind for later.
The following photos were taken two hours later, about 5 pm.
Around 10 pm:
The next morning at 8.30 am (look at the barbecue grill). At that time, the snow cover was 54 cm high, which had not happened in over ten years in such a short time. When it stopped snowing about 4 hours later, we were close at 60 cm.
Leaving for shopping:

However, it stopped snowing by Friday noon, and today we have the most beautiful winter wonderland day! It looks gorgeous. And I cannot wait to go for a walk and take more pictures from the area… before the next snow front arrives tomorrow!

In Love and Light
Incredibly beautiful, Erika! We never ever see anything like that here in Texas.

I do! And my children (18 – 25) even went outside with their bob sleighs to sledde down the hill next to our house… like they used to when they were little.

A beautiful winter wonderland afternoon the storm. We haven’t had a heavy snowfall like that in a few years. Thanks for summer/winter contrast photo, totally amazing how nature is.

I often think think of that during summer. When the sun is burning hot, I can hardly imagine that it can be that cold again.

The change in seasons is really amazing. One day it’s hot fun in the summertime and before you know it’s snow boots and snowblowers

You can have some … lol! I just said to Gary, we had no snow at all last season. So, I do enjoy a winter as I we were actually used to. That’s winter how I remember from my childhood until early adulthood. Not unusual for the Alps but having this amount within almost two days is!

Hey my friend, that looks a little cold. But no cooking on the grill to warm things up? By the look of it your steak would probably freeze over before it cooked 😂 🤣
I’m afraid I don’t know its reality, I’ve never seen snow before. I’ve had a breeze off the nearby mountains from it which was quite cold, but the only time I ever went near it was after a very light dusting that we were only able to make a tiny orange (yes, the mud mixed into it would not allow white) snowman 😂 🤣
Actually it wasn’t a real snowman but some orange Yeti from out of the mountain wilderness somewhere I think, it was that ugly 😂 🤣
But that is so amazing, and very deep Erika. You wouldn’t be game to get your mail either, you’d probably get lost in it on the way back 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

It is really exceptional! We had no snow at all last year, which is unusual too. And now we got everything at once… and more is in the forecast for tomorrow! Although driving was horrible for a while I love that we have a real winter scenery again!
