#HitsByYears – 1980

There would be so many more great hits to share, but that is a bit of the thrill that keeps the suspense higher. So, I will conclude this week with only two songs. One is what we call a one-hit-wonder with lots of cover versions, and the other one is coming from one of the greatest musicians of this time. I hope you liked my choice. Have a great Friday!

Funky Town – Lipps Inc.

Little Jeannie – Elton John

Feel free to add or mention in the comments your favorite song of 1976 and the memory that connects you with it.

Hi Erika, This goes way back! Vince and I saw Elton John a couple of years ago in Vegas. He shuffles across the stage, but he still works miracles on the piano and keyboard and has a voice like no one else. Thanks for sharing. This is a lot of fun. 🙂

Yes, and he is so used to the crowds and the adulation. He would miss that stimulus. They are almost like family. That’s his life as long as he is still at a high performance level, and he is. That in itself is amazing.

Most people get tired of what they do, even if they love it and look forward to retiring. Anyway, if was fun revisiting how he looked as a youngster again. 🙂

I had not hear Little Jeannie for so long Ericka. It was a very pleasant listen, thank you. You are really touching places I haven’t thought of in a long time, going way back in time. I even had those bell bottom trousers bouncing around the dance floor 😂 🤣 Shhh, don’t tell anyone 😂 🤣

OMG, those trousers😄 I thought I would not be surprised by the songs I find since I am so into the 80s but I too found so many forgotten gems… Or at least I did not knwo they were from 1980. I am happy you liked them, Marck.
