#HitsByYears – 1979

A Romantic #HitsByYears Tuesday and thank God, there are some really beautiful love songs to choose from in 1979. I couldn’t just stick with one and here we go with two of them!

Still – The Commodores

Lost in Love – Air Supply

Feel free to add or mention in the comments your favorite song of 1979 and the memory that connects you with it.

The one that sticks in my mine from 1979, I remember it well, as we were struggling with two young children, who were then aged 4 and 2.. As things got tough as my husbands place of work went on strike, and we had no income for about 7 or 8 weeks… Was the Song by Gloria Gaynor ‘ I WILL SURVIVE’…. I kept singing it over and over… https://youtu.be/Tth-8wA3PdY But not for the lyrics or meanings within the song… Just that I will survive this.. as we were going through tough times emotionally as a couple too… But we did get through it, we did survive and still surviving 46 years of togetherness later.. 🙂
Lots of love dear Erika.. thank you for the song choices… both brought back memories of those times. ❤ 💚🙏💖

That is such a great story, Sue. I can imagine that whenever you hear that song, you are feelingnthe strength of surviving those difficult times. It is generally a power song and for sure extremely motivating. Thank you for sharing, Sue😊

I love both of these, especially “Still!” I’m not sure if it was 1979, but somewhere around there, Blondie had “Heart of Glass.” I loved that one! 1979 was a GREAT year for music!
