Today, I would like to share the view from a place to which I look at daily from home. Last year, on a warm summer evening, we went up the “Staubern” and had a breathtaking view down to the valley and I could even spot my house. It is about 1,860 m above sea level. We went up there by a ropeway and enjoyed not only this gorgeous view but also a delicious cheese fondue. Enjoy the trip!
On the next picture you can see the river Rhine which is the natural border between Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
Time for dinner!
It was a beautiful evening!
I was inspired by Gary to share this trip. He loves Switzerland and the area around the Alps.

I haven’t enjoyed a cheese fondue in years, although I do recall enjoying a chocolate fondue a few years ago.
Spectacular views, Erika. The air must have been fresh and very healthy.

You need to try it again, Hugh! You are not that quickly fed up like with a chocolate fondue… lol.
Yes, the air wonderful up there and so spicy. It was a warm summer evening though and therefore it was nice and warm even on that altitude.

Oh, I definitely will, Erika, especially because we have a fondue set in the kitchen cupboard. I’m amazed it was warm enough at such high altitude. When I looked at your photos, ‘Julie Andrews’ came to mind.

Oh, yes, no jacket needed in July as long as the sun had not set yet.
Haha, I think wherever you are in the Alps that will come to your mind, Hugh. But can you imagine that only a handful of people in Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Germany have seen The Sound of Music?

Given the subject of the movie, I can probably understand why, Erika. It seems to get played on TV every bank holiday in the UK. And of course some of the music from the movie (and show) are classics.

I heard of it that it is played frequently in the UK (and I think in the US too). Perhaps I should watch it once… lol
