Hits By Years – 1976

Here we go with the promised week with hits of 1976. Let’s start with one I thought was actually pretty fitting a Monday during a regular start of a work week for many who are dealing with a lot of traffic on their way to work.

Convoy – CW McCall

Feel free to add or mention in the comments your favorite song of 1976 and the memory that connects you with it.

Erika, great to see your words again. I never did get into “Convoy.” Looking at a Top Ten list, it was not a great year for big hits. I did see “December 1963″ by The Four Seasons that was very good storytelling. Frankie Valli actually sang the chorus on this one. ‘Play that funky music” by Wild Cherry had a great riff for a dance song. Mark mentioned “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. I would choose that over any of the Top Ten songs.

I saw where Paul McCartney’s “Silly Love Songs” was number one. McCartney wrote some of the best music ever, but this one not of them. He got too sappy during the middle of the 1970s, in my view. I do know the girls in my high school loved KC and Sunshine Band. I was more of Spinners and Commodores fan. Thanks for the memory lane. Keith

That’s right, it was the first year when I had a bit of difficulties finding some really great songs I remembered. But I got a few good ones together (except Convoy… lol… but I actually liked it… haha). Bohemian Rhapsody was published in 1975 and that year on my series, of course included this great piece of music art… yay!
I wonder if you there are some songs coming up in the coming days which make the memory lane a bit longer… hehe.

Erika, the 1970s started strong, but there seemed to be a dearth in the volume of good songs in the middle years. The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, Boston, Boz Skaggs, Chicago, Styx, Bob Seger, Billy Joel and The Eagles with Hotel Californa were standouts. I lived the disco era and while there were some good songs, they were many that were repetitive in nature for dancing. Michael Jackson was starting to break out as a singles star and I mentioned I liked the Commodores and Spinners and, EW and F, of course. Keith

I checked a bit into the later 70s because I remembered some songs. They are all of 78/79. So that goes along with your statement. Right, the Commodores, Chicago, Billy Joel, and of course, MJ with Off The Wall in 1979. I am really looking forward to the last two years of the 70s. That will be difficult picks… lol!

‘You sexy Thing’ by Hot Chocolate or ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen or ‘Shake, shake, shake’ by KC and the Sunshine Band.. Danced many a night away with all those playing Erika 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Haha! There is a 70’s lover in the community… lol. Great songs! Bohemian Rhapsody, of course, was the highlight of the 1975 part the last time. How could I go without it, right 😄
The 70s were very cool and going back in time I think they appear even cooler 🤩

Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone but It doesn’t really matter the dates, it is just great to hear them again. Your giving me a great excuse to whip a few up as I’m working to dance in front of my computer 😂 🤣

Hehe, you are not the only one. I blasting the 70s sound as soon as I am sitting on my laptop lately… lol. There are so many great and unforgettable songs. One of my favorites is coming on Friday. A complete childhood memory 😁

It was a crazy busy time but managed to catch up while neglecting WP. Actually, the past days where the last straw after weeks of not getting out of the wheel anymore. This home office was not healthy but thank God, I am back at my regular workdays again. Was close to running into a burn-out. But I have pulled the plug now.
Thanks for asking, sis. I hope, I can be over more frequently again 💖

Precisely, sis. Was at the doctor’s yesterday because I could not handle the smallest things anymore. I have never been to such a place before and I had never thought I’d ever get there… Starting something new is fun and exciting but you need to keep in mind that the day still only has 24 hours and sometimes too much is coming together.

I felt like on stand-by 24/7 due to home office. The physical and mental reactions scared me. But my doctor put me on sick leave for the coming 10 days. I am positive it will help me to wind down and find the necessary distance to clear my head. Thank you, sis 💖

Love and light coming your way too dear lady. I’ve sent you a bit of Australian nature energy, the open natural forests, streams and mountains. I hope it rests your heart for it to be free again too ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Reading your words made me reflexively take a deep breath. What a beautiful picture you created in my mind and heart. But it is not only the picture, it truly is the energy you sent along. Thank you for being so thoughtful, Mark, I appreciate it more than you might think 💖
