I often mention that I am writing my posts quite a while ahead to make sure that I am having them ready even when something gets in my way. What amazes me very often is the fact that so many readers say, how timely the post was for them and probably would not have touched anything in them if it was published right away.

This post was written about 10 days ago. It was a gorgeous spring day and I was sitting on my patio. The sky was deep blue and the temperatures had finally raised again. The birds were singing and flying around joyfully. The flowers blossomed colorfully and the bees and butterflies were buzzing and fluttering around. That moment I felt such peace. I couldn’t be anything but grateful and the contentment which filled me touched me deeply. There was no hectic, no “I need to get it done or my to-do-list will pile up even more” – only serenity.
That was the perfect time for writing a post. But I could not think of something to write and so grabbed my favorite deck of oracle cards the “Gateway Cards” of Denise Linn. I riffled the cards to wait until one sticks out or falls off. The second riffle already showed the card. It could not have been fitting better. This one described the feeling I was in perfectly, and it confirmed that this should not be a single moment of remembering what alignment means but a signpost to make it part of my life again.

Make use of the given moment. Do what fills you with joy. Make experiences and be at places that make your heart smile. Release the need to always check on what should or could be done. You don’t need to prove anything. One thing at a time. Contentment does not come from how much you achieved but from how much meaning of it is returned to you. Yes, there are obligations and responsibilities to be fulfilled but there is also a time in between. We shouldn’t squeeze even more things into that time but use it for regaining energy. Sometimes we have to hang in over a period (like many are doing this these days in amazing ways) but it should still only be a period and not become a habit.
Then I read in the little booklet what the Universe wants to tell us with that card:
You are not meant to solely work hard and be dutiful and diligent. Life should be lived abundantly and fully. Give yourself permission to be happy and experience profound gratification. Embrace the pleasure whenever you can. Create personal environments that fill you with deep satisfaction. Cherish your friendships. Love often and deeply. Allow your senses to be satiated. See, hear, taste, touch, and feel the beauty within and around you. Drink well, eat well, and dance into the early-morning hours.

I think the meaning goes even further these days: There is no reason to feel worthless or useless for being slowed down. For those in lockdown, you deserve a break. You cannot do anything about it anyway. Be in the moment and enjoy the moment. So charge your batteries, do things that keep your mood high and inspire others to do the same. This is not the time for feeling guilty. It is the time we can let our hearts speak to do more for ourselves and therefore also for others. Also, those who lost their jobs will be needed again once life begins to start the engines again.
Maybe the lesson and the message of the card right now lie in stopping measuring our self-worth and value with what we do but with who we are. We don’t need to prove anything. We need to be as happy as possible to stay healthy, strong, loving, tolerant, respectful, and supportive but most of all, to be the persons we have always been meant to be. What people could there be better to work with?
I wonder to whom this post may speak today.
