For the last song of this special hits week, I go with one of my favorite songs ever. A song that always makes my eyes watery listening to it but watching this video touches my heart even more. A song that has to be part of this collection of greatest song of 1972. Happy Friday!
Ben – Michael Jackson
Feel free to add or mention in the comments your favorite song of 1972 and the memory that connects you with it.

Such a beautiful song. Hard to believe it was about a rat.

Isn’t it 😄 When I heard the song for the first time I had no idea it was the soundtrack of that movie. Only when I saw the movie and heard the song in the end, I understood… lol

This is and will always be one of my favorite songs of his. Actually, I love his songs when he was still young. Such a young boy and so much expression and feeling in his voice💖

Michael Jackson was one of the greatest!! I’ve got goosebumps listening to this video! He doesn’t even look like what he did in his later years. What a difference!

I am not surprised you got goosebumps too. When I found the video and watched it I thought of what this boy still had to face in his life. It brought tears to my eyes looking at this young Michael.
I heard an interview lately of someone who worked close together with him. One day he asked him why he was doing all those surgeries. Michael said: “Because I began to look like my father.” So sad…

Aw, geese! That felt like a punch to my gut. I know how terrible his father treated him … makes me ill thinking about it. Poor Michael such a talent yet so tormented. I’m glad he is no longer here to keep living that torment. Your words brought more goosebumps and tears here …..

It shocked me too when I heard it and I thought of this all (also what you said here) when watching the video. It is so tragic and still his life holds so many messages for us.
Thank you, Amy, I love our conversations. It is wonderful how deep you feel although it can be so in the way at times 💖

Yes, exactly. I thought it was a wonderful way to end this week. I am glad you think so too.
There are so many great songs from only one year. I am surprised time and time again, when I check years for their hits. It is not easy to pick only 5 but that makes it more exciting… hehe. Next week I will be cheating a bit… lol

He was a talent all his own, I never saw so many number one’s so often from just the one singer 😀
