On a side note: I am preparing quote and images independently from scheduling them. Usually, I am having a bunch of quotes in my folder and then pick blindly those to schedule. My Thursday quote is one of my archives. Only when I was about to schedule this one I noticed how well it fits the one I scheduled for yesterday. First I thought, I need to exchange one but then I decided to leave it since it actually makes a great sequel. Thanks for leading me, Universe!

The purpose of my blog is to inspire and shine a light on the beauty and power of the wonderful being inside your body. You came into this world to share what only you can give. Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted to, and become the blessing to us all that you were meant to be.

Erika, interesting question. It depends on what we mean by pushing. Urging someone to do better, try something or do the right thing? Or, someone who is pushing you to do something bad so they won’t be doing it alone? On the receiving side, sometimes the loyal, diligent worker needs a push to try a new job or go into business for themselves.

So, as Annette and Amy are correct, there can be good either, But, there can also be some bad too. There is an art to “pushing” someone without being a pest or nag and you don’t want to let people push you into doing something you don’t want to do.

Some folks with low self esteem want others to make decisions for them, so my wife has a teasing way to make them realize they have the power to make the decision. She will tell someone, “You are a grown ass woman, you can make this decision.” My wife is a great listener and delivers this with a smile, so she can get away with it.

So, the key is not to cede your power; and don’t abuse your power with others. Keith

Haha, I like your wife’s way! Yes, indeed, it depends on the intention about the pushing. I basically thought of our own journey and how to walk the path of life. Do I pull back and wait because I am afraid to make the step or do I want to make the step before I am forced to do it or before I even regret that I haven’t done it… here we are again!
But however, yes, in the end, what is meant for us to happen or to experience will happen (at least I believe so). Which means that being pushed is nothing bad but simply life making sure we are keeping up with our plan.
Thanks a lot, Keith!

Erika, you would like my wife. She is easily the best half of the relationship. To me being pushed is gleaning input from people you trust. It is like a good caddy giving advice with the club. In the end, the golfer is the one who hits the shot. Keith

Hmmmmm ….. this one got me thinking. In my personal experience, both are necessary. I push myself all the time to go beyond the boundaries I know so that I grow. In the areas I toddle, to be pushed is a good thing that force me to grow and learn, even when I don’t want to. Very insightful quote, Erika.

I fully agree. I think you and I are basically pushing ourselves a lot. Still there are things I try to resist until life pushes too hard… But I go more with the flow meanwhile. It feels better when the push is softer… lol!
