Last week I wrote about how some people cannot enjoy the best things which happen to them because they don’t believe it can be true and how it can affect their health. They are convinced that bad things are the only reality. I’d like to continue here with something that goes along with such an attitude.
It is clear to all of us that when you only focus on the bad you may rather make bad experiences than good ones. When you tell yourself how bad the world is, you will only react to bad news which seems to confirm your opinion. But in fact, it is not confirming that the world is bad but that you will always see what you are looking for. Unfortunately, due to the non-awareness of that fact it will not be understood that way which deepens the negative attitude even more. The sad thing is, that those people feel like punished and mistreated by life.
Here we start where I actually want to go with this post. Wishing, hoping, dreaming, even praying is of no use if we add a BUT. “I would so love to go on vacation BUT I won’t get some days off. I would so love to write poems BUT no one will like them anyway.” The nascent spark of a dream gets extinguished right away. But that is only one part of the story. It is our general attitude in life. I can either be positive or negative. I cannot be both at the same time. Simple situations in life show us best where we stand at. For example, I am standing in line at the checkout. Behind me, there is a mother with two little kids. She is already exhausted from shopping while the one child is crying and the other one tries to run away all the time. Yes, I am first but I am not in a hurry. What would it say about me if let her pass? What would it say about my general attitude if I don’t? Either I am generous, supportive, and compassionate as a part of who I am or I am not.
Here we go, only what lies inside of me can be shared. So when I feel the need to do something good for someone else, then I open up to the love inside of myself. What I am doing for others is what I am feeling in the first place or it is not experienced as an act of kindness but rather a narcissistic act. The best thing to let my own love and light shine is to think about what it is I want to leave for others. For example, I want to make it my goal that others feel worthwhile. In my efforts to show others their value I will already strengthen the value I feel for myself. Try this out: There is a person in a cafe or a store who looks sad or even angry. Go there and make them a compliment accompanied by a smile. What is the probable reaction? They will be positively surprised and maybe even smile. You felt compassionate first and passed the good energy on. But sharing your compassionate energy was not limiting. Instead, it made you feel even better.
Whatever we give or don’t give to others is what is already inside of us. When we are happy with and for one another means that I already have that positive attitude inside of me. If there is no fire burning inside of me how can I share the warmth? But in the wish that my encounter may feel warm, I ignite a fire in me which warms both of us. Whatever we do or don’t do to others is what we do or don’t do to ourselves. So, be good to yourself and share the loving being you are.

Thank you very much, Colin. When we begin taking care for others we automatically generate that feeling inside. That’s why doing good to others is so healthy for ourselves.

Erika your indepth thoughts ignite my own passion.. You totally understand how Energy works.
If people could only grasp its how we give out in gratitude that comes back.. People cannot fathom we are Energy BEings, Our very cells respond to Love,
Our Energy interacts with others energy, and we each have an affect upon each other. When we learn to give,we are in fact receiving far more…
Always a pleasure Erika to read your deeper posts and thoughts my friend.
And to answer your Question you posed earlier, to a comment still pending in my moderation board, I was born on May Day… 🙂 Beltane 🙂 And I always felt right from an early age May Day was special and not because of my birthday.. So felt extra special for being birthed on that day..
Sending you love and well wishes my’soul sister’ 🙂 ❤

Oh, yes, Annette. His quotes are following me everywhere and they come to my mind in so many situations. I startet writing a draft yesterday and two of his quotes are like the core message of the post. He is missed but I am thankful for what he left for us.

Yes, that is all we can do and it is what we can do. We must never give up showing ways and inspiring others to find the courage of checking new ways out. Thank you, Irene. I love your comment. Would you allow me to quote you?

Thank you for another very motivating posting, Erika! But what would my comment be without some cynicism:Can I also take a gas burner to ignite a light on certain others? Lol Best wishes for the day! Michael
