The purpose of my blog is to inspire and shine a light on the beauty and power of the wonderful being inside your body. You came into this world to share what only you can give. Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted to, and become the blessing to us all that you were meant to be.
Erika, I like this. We should question things. Religious texts were written by imperfect men. Both of those words are important. That is why I believe the overarching themes, but recognize religious texts include human bias and error.
My intention is not to offend, but to point out that we should focus on the overrarching message of treating people like we want to be treated and less on excluding those who look, worship or love differently. Keith
Keith, I couldn’t agree more to what you said here. God did not invent religions, men did. And yes, whatever we believe in, we should always act in way which treats people the same way as we want to be treated. Respect and compassion paired with the individual ways of development. That is what this world needs!
Thanks Erika. I like the way you framed this – men invented religions. Some of the more inspiring words in the Christian new testament are the four gospels, which means “good news,” Yet, they were written by four different men between 30 and 70 years after Jesus died. So, they tell good news based on passed down stories of Jesus’ teachings. They are good stories, but we should recognize that they are not verbatim the truth as each author wrote in their own words and languages. Yet, we can still be inspired to act like he did and taught us to do.
Oh, yes, there is endless room for interpretaion since their own words are interpretations from how they experienced everything. Those words should actually provoke us to let them sink and see what they do with us. In the end, those stories were “translated” by certain people to control others in a way they benefit from it.
I agree, that they should be taken as inspiration to guide us in our own development. And each one of us will read them in exactly the way they need it in that very moment.
Oh boy ‘ Isn’t that the truth’ And when you really discover the TRUTH, it can be earth shattering for a time.. Until you piece it all together again..
Been taking time out from WP Erika.. Half term here and a granddaughter to play with. along with planting and crafts, and just BEing.. Hope you are well, and great quote Erika..
Much love your way
Yes, we need to be humble and be aware that whatever may feel like a truth is basically our way to go through life.
Oh, this sounds like a wonderful plan, Sue. Enjoy everything to the max. Sending you big hugs over💖
I agree to syl65, i can not find better words to honour your quote. Best wishes, Michael

They can really only be the truth as we perceive it at that moment

Perfectly said, dear sister! Truth from a human perspective is subjective.

You say it, it is not a truth but an instinct that leads us exactly the way we individually need it.
