Friday Song

Yippie, it’s Friday. I hope you guys had a good week so far and that a great weekend lies ahead of you! Going with a French song today which I came across while I was looking for a different song. It was very popular over here and I like it. Enjoy!

Désenchantée – Kate Ryan

English translation:

Disenchanted

Swimming in the troubled waters
Of forthcoming days
Waiting here for the end
Floating in the too heavy air
Of the almost nothing
To whom should we hold out our hands
If I must fall from high
Let my fall be slow
I haven’t found rest
But in indifference
And yet I would like to recover my innocence
But nothing makes sense anymore, and nothing’s fine
Everything is chaos
By comparison
All of my ideals:
Damaged words…
I’m looking for a soul
Who will be able to help me
I am from
A disenchanted generation,
Disenchanted
Who could keep me
From hearing everything
When reason collapses
Which way to turn
Who can pretend
To lull us in one’s womb
If death is a mystery
Life isn’t exactly tender
If heaven has an hell
Then heaven can still wait for me
Tell me,
How to handle this headwind
Nothing makes sense anymore, nothing’s fine
Everything is chaos
By comparison
All of my ideals:
Damaged words…
I’m looking for a soul
Who will be able to help me
I am from
A disenchanted generation,
Disenchanted
Everything is chaos
By comparison
All of my ideals:
Damaged words…
I’m looking for a soul
Who will be able to help me
I am from
A disenchanted generation,
Disenchanted

Erika, what an interesting reference “disenchanted generation.” With the information and social media age, bad news permeates the airwaves, while the good news goes vastly underreported. With that said, my country has a leadership that is reneging on its role in climate change, global trade and rights and debt. We are leaving our problems for our kids to deal with. Keith

Yes, I see how you relate to it. That leadership appears more and more surreal. But he still does everything to become desqualified… still hoping strongly. I don’t understand those people who support this.

Erika, from your time here, you know that we are a largely uninformed nation. Many of the man’s followers do not realize he is not being truthful on the reasons for problems, so his prescriptions are off base and, in some cases, help those who don’t really need help. My favorite line from an economist is “Trump is for coal owners, not miners.” Keith

Hmm, I’d say that is a very good defnition of his intentions. Yes, coal owners are more in his focus than the miners indeed. It is tragic that he is working on the isolatioin instead of the greatness of the US… either he is not aware while on his ego trip or he doesn’t care!

She has a beautiful voice.. Reading the lyrics they are very apt.. Many of us can resonate with her words I feel… I know many may feel disenchanted.. As we reach out to look for that likeminded Soul.. But I also know we all chose to be here at this time..
Holding out my hand anytime… Wishing you a perfect peaceful weekend.. Here it is a bank holiday and I will be going silent for a few days..
LOVE and Hugs my friend.. Enjoy. ❤

I did not notice the lyrics before I scheduled this post. Truely lyrics which make you think. As you said, there are times we all feel like it but it is only part of our development process.
Have a great time, Sue. Huge hugs and much love back to you 💖
