The Rose

She is like a rose

For too long her buds were tightly closed

Protecting the vulnerable petals

From hurting, humiliation, offending

No one could see the rivers flowing inside

Which she cried in many lonely hours

But she never gave up on hope

She still believed in her dreams and longings

One day the river inside reached a record high

She was about to drown within her bud

Then she felt it

Someone supported her heavy bud

It felt so loving and caring

Without realizing what happened

She opened up and let go of all the waters she had cried

Beautiful rainbow colors sparkled around her

When the sun light broke in the water drops on her petals

For the first time, she realized that she has been beautiful all the time

Even though others couldn’t see it

She looked around and saw it

The rose next to her had grown in a way

To support her heavy bud

Her head was even bedded within the other flower

She felt safe and protected although her bud was wide open

She felt like being held in the palm of love

She understood the miracle of fate:

When her heavy head slowly sank to the floor, they touched

Although part of the same plant

Only the heaviness of life

Made them recognize each other

For sharing the rest of their lives

The heaviness of life brought love and healing
