Our Love Shines

For far too long I searched the light

Of love that’s meant for me

I shone as bright as I just could

And hoped that I was seen

But still I felt invisible

Ignored, taken for granted

Till I resigned, blew out the flame

Since no one got enchanted

Then I thought that I saw a spark

Within a deep dark forest

Was looking closer and found you

Holding a matchbox in your hands

You stroke the matches one by one

In order to see clearer

But all burned down again so fast

I was curiously coming nearer

I saw the sadness in your eyes

While sitting in the dark

It looked like you were searching too

For that one loving heart

Now there was only one match left

When you noticed my presence

You looked at me, I looked at you

We touched our very essence

You stroke that match and it was like

The brightest shining spark

It instantly ignited the

Lone candle in my heart

You held the match and I the wick

But we needed each other

To finally ignite that light

Of our love, for one another

The precious flame of love we share

Is showing us the way

Towards a future, we’ve always sensed

Was coming true one day

In Love and Light
