Song of the Day

song-of-the-dayGood Morning on this Monday! For today I was looking into the songs of an Italian group. They were big in Italy and Europe in the early 80’s. I picked one of the songs I liked most… and there are many! It is a frosty day again over here and I thought some Mediterranean feelings won’t hurt… lol!

Sara Preché Ti Amo – Ricchi e Poveri (1981)

Btw. “Ricchi e Poveri” means: Rich and Poor… as you might have figured out! Here is the English translation of the lyrics. My Italian is limited but I think this one is not too bad:

It Must Be ‘Cause I Love You

What a distraction
it must be ’cause I love you
it’s an attraction
I can’t get ample of you
just squeeze me tighter
and come a little closer
if I feel good here
it must be ’cause I love you
I’m always singing
along with your sweet breathing
the springtime’s dawning
it must be ’cause I love you
a star is falling
but tell me where I drove you
you couldn’t care less
it must be ’cause I love you
[Chorus:] x2
And fly on, fly on you know
that always higher you go
and fly on, fly on with me
the world is crazy ’cause heck
even if love weren’t there
it takes a single song’s action
to pose a distraction
inside you and in the air
But after all say
what is there uncommon
it’s just a known song
it must be ’cause I love you
if the world crumbled
then we can make a move too
if the world crumbled
it will be ’cause I love you
Just squeeze me tighter
and come a little closer
it feels so nice there
that even seems unreal
if the world’s crazy
what is there to bother
crazily crazy
at least we love each other
(chorus)
And fly on, fly on you know
it must be ’cause I love you
and fly on, fly on with me
and come a little closer
even if love weren’t there
but tell me where are we now
what a confusion
it must be ’cause I love you

I’m still awake so here I am! Lol. It’s almost 1 a.m.! I’m picking up some of the words because Italian is similar to Spanish. 1981 was the best year because that’s the year I was born! Ha ha ha! Happy Monday, Erika!
