Song of the Day

Song of the day

Good Morning everybody! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and start refreshed into the new week! I want to give you a little boost with one Italian’sย legends. Happy Monday with “The Italian”!

L’Italiano – Toto Cutugno

LET ME SING

WITH MY GUITAR IN THE HAND

LET ME SING

I AM AN ITALIAN.

GOOD AFTERNOON ITALY, WITH YOUR SPAGHETTI
AND A PARTISAN FOR PRESIDENT
WITH THE CAR RADIO ALWAYS IN THE RIGHT HAND
AND A LITTLE CANARY ABOVE THE WINDOW.

GOOD AFTERNOON ITALY WITH YOUR ARTISTS
WITH TOO MANY AMERICAN FLAGS ON THE POSTERS
WITH THE SONGS ABOUT LOVE
WITH THE HEART
WITH MORE WOMEN AND LESS NUNS

GOOD AFTERNOON ITALY
GOOD AFTERNOON MARY
WITH EYES FULL OF MELANCHOLY
GOOD AFTERNOON GOD
YOU KNOW I’M HERE TOO

LET ME SING
WITH THE GUITAR IN MY HAND
LET ME SING
A SONG SLOWLY SLOWLY
LET ME SING
BeCAUSE I’M PROUD OF IT
I’M AN ITALIAN
A GENUINE (REAL) ITALIAN.

GOOD AFTERNOON ITALY THAT DOESN’T GET SCARED
AND WITH THE SHAVING CREAM WITH MINT FLAVOUR
WITH A BLUE PINSTRIPE SUIT
AND THE MOVIOLA (the first machine that could edit films) ALWAYS ON SUNDAYS ON TV
GOOD AFTERNOON ITALY WITH THE SMALL COFFEE
THE NEW SOCKS IN THE FIRST DRAWER
WITH THE FLAG AT THE DRY CLEANER’S
AND A BROKEN 600 (Fiat)

GOOD AFTERNOON ITALY
GOOD AFTERNOON MARY
WITH THE EYES FULL OF MELANCHOLY
GOOD AFTERNOON GOD
YOU KNOW I’M HERE TOO

LET ME SING

WITH THE GUITAR IN MY HAND

LET ME SING

A SONG SLOWLY SLOWLY

LET ME SING

BECAUSE I’M PROUD OF IT

I’M AN ITALIAN

A REAL ITALIAN.

In Love and Light

It is an old one … gosh, I was 13… lol! But Italian songs still give me that summer feeling, most of all when they were released in summer…. whenever! Happy Mondy to you too, Sis! Are you off today?
