Song of the Day

Today I want to share a song I loved to listen to in 1985. Oh, there were lots of great songs, fo course. Good old 80’s 😍 But this one just started playing in my head. Happy Thursday!!!

Love & Pride – King

That’s what my heart yearns for now – love and pride.
That’s what my heart yearns for now – love and pride.

Start your journey early or maybe later
get your boots on

Look for rainbows
it’s cloudy

Take your hairdryer
blow them all away.

In you I’ve found a story I want to keep hearing.
In you I see all colours
not just black or white.
In you I find a reason and hope for all dreamers

You are my fill
you’re my supply of love and pride.
That’s what my heart yearns for now – love and pride. . . .

Knowing
sensing
seeing
eating
sleeping
that’s just being.
Touching
testing
loving
wanting and taking

more love and more pride.
In you I’ve found a story I want to keep hearing. . . .

I’m taking it round the world – some love and pride.
That’s what my heart yearns for now – love and pride. . . .
That’s what my heart yeanis for now – love and pride. . . .

In Love and Light

This brought back a few memories. My hubby found a school book of my daughters today dated 1988, when she went on a school holiday for a field trip to the coast for a week.. In it were photos, and what she had done all week, and it was signed by all the teachers and her friends.. Your song transported me back to the time she had posters on her wall, listening to this kind of music. And I remember this one for sure πŸ™‚

Isn’t it amazing what pictures and feelings music can bring up? I feel thrown back into that time too and it is wonderful! Music is an amazing memory link! Thank you for sharing this, Sue! 😊

Erika, I love this line in particular:

“In you I’ve found a story I want to keep hearing.”

This may be the best verbal aphrodisiac that anyone can hear.

Oh, yes, you are so right! That line is beautiful indeed. I get to know the lyrics of those old songs much better today then 30 years back. It was just a cool song and who cared about lyrics… lol!

Of course, with Elton, Mick, Jimi and John Fogerty of CCR, we could not understand many lyrics. “There is a bathroom on the right,” we swore Fogerty sang. Check out this website on misunderstood lyrics based on a famous misunderstand Jimi Hendix song. Keith
