A Legacy of Love and Compassion

Today I am closing my Michael Jackson memorial week. His music made me smile, inspired and empowered me throughout my life. So here is another one of my favorite songs of his early career.

Got To Be There

Yes, he left way too early for most of us. But as you know I am deeply convinced that nothing ever happens accidentally. Why ever he lived the life he did live, we won’t know. It was in his plan. What is more important is the legacy and the messages he left for us. Because when we start with the man in the mirror we can heal the world.

Man In The Mirror

Of course, I wish he would still be here with us but at least…..

We Had Him

Beloveds, now we know that we know nothing
Now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips like a puff of summer wind

Without notice, our dear love can escape our doting embrace
Sing our songs among the stars and walk our dances across the face of the moon

In the instant we learn that Michael is gone we know nothing
No clocks can tell our time and no oceans can rush our tides
With the abrupt absence of our treasure

Though we are many, each of us is achingly alone
Piercingly alone
Only when we confess our confusion can we remember that he was a gift to us and we did have him

He came to us from the Creator, trailing creativity in abundance
Despite the anguish of life, he was sheathed in mother love and family love and survived and did more than that

He thrived with passion and compassion, humor and style
We had him
Whether we knew who he was or did not know, he was ours and we were his
We had him

Beautiful, delighting our eyes
He raked his hat slant over his brow and took a pose on his toes for all of us and we laughed and stomped our feet for him

We were enchanted with his passion because he held nothing
He gave us all he had been given

Today in Tokyo, beneath the Eiffel Tower, in Ghana’s Blackstar Square, in Johannesburg, in Pittsburgh, in Birmingham, Alabama and Birmingham England, we are missing Michael Jackson

But we do know that we had him
And we are the world.

RIP Michael…. in love and light…

Michael came to teach us by his love and compassion, the lyrics of his songs
Will live on in many a heart.. I feel he never wanted to age. And so his mission was completed
As it was meant to be..
And you have paid him a wonderful tribute here dear Erika.. As I catch up again to your wonderful posts..
Have a fantastic week..
Love and Blessings

I think like this dear Erika.. if it were not meant to be, then it wouldn’t be so.. It is what it is .. and We are all of us here for our Missions how ever brief or however long.. And those whom we think do not have a mission at all, who cause us to think, judge and express our opinions.. Well maybe, just may be, that was their purpose.. As we evolve, and grow as we learn to let go of our judgements and perceptions and see we are all but mirrors of one another.. πŸ™‚ xxx

Yes, right! Sometimes we might see their mission and some have their mission in making us think. I believe this too. And even when we don’t understand the greater context, there is always one! Everybody fulfills their purposes defintily, whether recognized or not! We all have our place in this world. This is an insight I am so thankful for because it makes everything meaningful that happens.

I totally agree. When we have this understanding we simply stop judging or searching for explanations… because we don’t need any! Absolutely, the “less nice” people teach us the most, because they don’t care how we feel about what they do… or they care that we feel as bad as possible. And this is one of the biggest life lessons to detach and rise from that.
